Concept OPL 100S Smoke Density / Opacity Monitoring System

  • Opacity & Optical Density measurement
  • Double pass technology, dual outputs & alarms
  • Push button calibration & testing
  • Total system package and complete range of accessories
  • Optional oxygen sensor output

The Concept OPL 100 unit is designed to measure the density of smoke, dust, mist or fog between a given area. The system is low maintenance, double pass, dual beam transmissometer that consists of a transceiver (transmitter / receiver), and a passive retroreflector module. These components are stack mounted which are then interfaced with the control unit. The transceiver produces an electronically modulated and collimated light beam which is projected across the given area to a retroreflector that returns the beam back to the transceiver where the light beam intensity is measured by a measurement detector (MD). This detector will only measure the modulated light and is not affected by the presence of stray or artificial light.

The only two options available from current technologies for density measurement are Opacity and Optical Density - the Concept OPL 100 offers both.

Testimonials

Bekonscot - Managing Director

For several years we went through numerous smoke generators to simulate a "burning building", an important feature in our presentation.  Although the effect produced was good, the reliability, servicing and running costs of the system were always a headache, with smoke machines sometimes lasting a few weeks before they failed.

In June 2000, on recommendation, we contacted Concept Smoke Systems regarding the smoke installation.  A ViCount system was installed and commissioned later that year and has been operating without failure ever since!! Smoke chemical consumption has fallen dramatically, serviceability has been 100% and the effect is as impressive as ever.  Minimising issues relating to maintenance, and maximising reliability has given all of our visitors (some 200,000 per year) the benefit of seeing the smoke effect.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend these systems to other users who need reliable and cost-effective smoke!
